About the Teacher
The heart behind Glen Rock Indian Dance.
Aswathy Sukumar
Aswathy Sukumar started her Bharatnatyam training under the tutelage of Guru P.S.A Manu (disciple of Padma Shri Chitra Visweswaran) at the age of 5, performed her Arangetam in 1998, and trained under her guru for 10 years.
Later, she continued her training under the guidance of her mother Mrs. Uma Sukumar (M.A. in Bharatnatyam, trained in Mohinlattam and Kathakali in Kerala). She has also pursued a 10-year diploma in Bharatnatyam (B.A. Honors) and successfully obtained a Ko-Vid certificate in Bharatnatyam from Kairagrah University.
She has choreographed and performed at several events over the years.
